In 2021, the first prototype 3D printed house, Tecla, printed from locally sourced soil and water as well as fibers from rice husks and a binder was completed.[1][2][3] Such buildings could be very inexpensive, well-insulated, stable and weatherproof, climate-adaptable, customizable, get produced rapidly, require only very little easily-learnable manual labor, require less energy, produce very little waste and reduce carbon emissions from concrete.[citation needed]
