Höss was called as a defense witness by Ernst Kaltenbrunner's lawyer, Kurt Kauffmann.[8][9] The transcript of Höss's testimony was later entered as evidence during the 4th Nuremberg Military Tribunal, known as the Pohl Trial for principal defendant Oswald Pohl.[10] Affidavits that Höss made while imprisoned in Nuremberg were also used at the Pohl and IG Farben trials.[citation needed]
