Protesters gathered on May 29 in Millennium Park and marched through the Loop chanting Floyd's name.[1] Demonstrators shut down several downtown streets and blocked traffic on the Eisenhower Expressway. Near the intersection of State and Harrison streets, several protesters were seen throwing bottles and climbing onto cars.[2][3] One individual was arrested while carrying a gun.[3] A small group of protesters demonstrated in front of Trump Tower near midnight.[3] The protesters eventually broke up once they reached the Near North Side neighborhood, and protests eventually died down by the early-morning hours.[citation needed]
