Members of the Memorial society took an active part in such commemorative meetings.[citation needed] Since 2007, Memorial had also organised the day-long "Restoring the Names" ceremony at the Solovetsky Stone in Moscow every 29 October.[1] The organization was banned by the Russian government in 2022.[2][3][4] Some of Memorial's human rights activities have continued in Russia.[5]
