Press censorship issues arose again during the administration of President George W. Bush during the 2003 invasion of Iraq.[citation needed] Journalists who were embedded within the armed forces had to accept certain terms and restrictions on what they were reporting and additionally were required to make their reports available to media operations staff prior to publication. This process was put in place to avoid compromising security or endangering troops by revealing exact locations.[1]
