In 2017, Venezuela's Supreme Justice Tribunal admitted a constitutional action that intends to allow changing the name and gender of a group of people.[citation needed] Each case will be individually assessed, and all parties involved will need a certified copy of birth certificates and a psychiatric and psychological report submitted by a specialist that demonstrates the veracity of the intended sexual identity.[3] However, the Tribunal still has not granted the change of name and gender to the people involved in the constitutional action.
