Louisine Havemeyer regularly spoke first, and was introduced as a grandmother of 11 children and one of the richest women in New York.[5] She often spoke about the cause of women's suffrage being a just one and newspaper reports commented on her dignity and poise.[5] Abby Scott Baker would often speak next; other speakers included Lucy Burns, Mary Winsor, who had spent 66 days in jail, and Lucy Branham.
