Despite having been born with mild scoliosis,[citation needed] Claman is an avid runner who completed the New York City Marathon in 2005[2] and she completed her first Triathlon in New York City in July 2009, finishing the Nautica Olympic-distance Triathlon in under 3.5 hours. She has since completed 6 more triathlons and, from her triathlon competitions alone, has raised more than $500,000 for Building Homes For Heroes.[3] She is also a skier. In 2006 and 2007, Claman participated in the Jerry Ford Celebrity Cup Ski Race in Vail, Colorado sponsored by the Vail Valley Foundation charity. In 2007, Claman's ski team made the race finals.
