The opening words of the poem "The Gate of the Year" struck a chord with a country facing the uncertainty of war. It is now among the most quoted poetic works of the twentieth century.[citation needed] This poem is inscribed at the entrance to the George VI Memorial Chapel in St George's Chapel, Windsor at Windsor Castle, and in a window at the Queen's Chapel of the Savoy in London. The poem was read at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother in 2002 and was printed in the Order of Service.[3]
