In page Belgian Congo:

"

A system of racial segregation and discrimination existed in the Belgian Congo.[1][2] There was an "implicit apartheid". The colony had curfews for Congolese city-dwellers and similar racial restrictions were commonplace. The indigenous population in the cities could not leave their houses from 21:00 to 4:00.[citation needed] Léopoldville's system of racist curfews was particularly notable and was used as a blueprint in other European colonies, such as nearby French Equatorial Africa.[3]
