Fulham's fan base has fluctuated over the years, with high crowds coinciding with the club's success in the Premier League.[citation needed] Fulham supporters have played a vital role in the club's long term stay at Craven Cottage.[4] When the club moved temporarily to Loftus Road, a committee known as Back to the Cottage[5] was formed, committed to ensuring the club continued to play at their traditional home. Fulham fans have traditionally come from the Fulham and Hammersmith areas, and also from other areas in South-West London, such as Putney, Richmond, Sutton and Worcester Park.[6]
