According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 28.40 square miles (73.56 km2), of which 26.00 sq mi (67.34 km2) is land and 2.40 sq mi (6.22 km2) is water.[1] The largest water body in the town is St. George Lake. Other bodies of water include: Stevens Pond (339 acres (137 ha)), Trues Pon (173 acres (70 ha)), Little Pond (69 acres (28 ha)), Cargill Pond (57 acres (23 ha)) and Colby Pond (26 acres (11 ha)).[citation needed] Liberty is served by Maine State Routes 3, 220, and 173.
