Western Washington University is home to NCAA Division II National Women's Rowing Champions. The Lady Vikings became Western's first NCAA champion team in 2005 and won again in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2017, and 2024,[8] as well as winning two national championship titles at the National Collegiate Rowing Championships in 1984 and 1996 before the NCAA began holding women's rowing championships in 2002.[9] The 2011-2012 Western Men's Basketball team won the NCAA Division II National Championship.
