In page Mitochondrial DNA:

"

Male mitochondrial DNA inheritance has been discovered in Plymouth Rock chickens.[1] Evidence supports rare instances of male mitochondrial inheritance in some mammals as well. Specifically, documented occurrences exist for mice,[2][3] where the male-inherited mitochondria were subsequently rejected. It has also been found in sheep,[4] and in cloned cattle.[5] Rare cases of male mitochondrial inheritance have been documented in humans.[6][7][8][9] Although many of these cases involve cloned embryos or subsequent rejection of the paternal mitochondria, others document in vivo inheritance and persistence under lab conditions.[citation needed]
