Round Rock is 17 miles (27 kilometers) north of downtown Austin, and 10 mi (16 km) south of Georgetown. Its elevation is 709 ft (216 m).[citation needed] According to the US Census Bureau, the city has an area of 26.3 square miles (68 km2), of which 26.1 square miles (68 km2) are land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km2) (0.50%) is covered by water.[1] Prior to the 2010 census, the city annexed part of the Brushy Creek CDP, increasing its area to 35.9 square miles (93 km2), of which 35.6 square miles (92 km2) of it is land and 0.3 square miles (0.78 km2) is water.[2][3]
