The gamma chord (γ chord) is 0,3,6,8,11 (Forte number 5-32A)[1] It is the beta chord with one interval diminished: C, E, G, A, C. It may be considered a major-minor minor seventh chord on A: A, C, C, E, G. See also: Elektra chord. This is also commonly known as the Hendrix chord,[citation needed] or in jazz music as a Dominant 79 chord; the notes in this case creating an A79.
