In page Uniontown, Pennsylvania:

"

In early years, the town was sometimes unofficially called "Beesonstown", though not by Beeson.[5] In 1783, Fayette County was erected and divided into townships, of which Union Township contained the namesake town.[6] The town was incorporated as a borough in 1796 under the name Uniontown and separated from Union Township,[7] which was split in 1851 into the North Union and South Union townships.[citation needed]
