In 2016, the incidence of femicides was 3.2 per 100 000 inhabitants, the national average being 4.2.[4] A 2015 city government report found that two of three women over the age of 15 in the capital suffered some form of violence.[5] In addition to street harassment, one of the places where women in Mexico City are subjected to violence is on and around public transport. Annually the Metro of Mexico City receives 300 complaints of sexual harassment.[6] While the violence against women in Mexico City is rising, there is still a large number of incidents of kidnappings and killings that go undetected and unreported due to the corruption in the police department.[citation needed]
